Posted on 22nd April, 2021
Amidst the confusion whether COVID 19 pandemic is going to disrupt the All India School Certificate Examinations or not, Karnataka Education ministry took a brave rare decision recently.
The education Minister for Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar confirmed that the Karnataka Class 10 board exams will begin from 21st June 2021. In a recent tweet he declared that there’s no such decision to cancel the Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams till now from the ministry of Primary and Secondary education of Karnataka.
However, he also confirmed that suitable parameters will be maintained for conducting the 10th board exams. However, other boards like CBSE and CISCE already announced the cancellation of class 10 board exams.
On explaining the reason behind such a decision, Mr. Suresh Kumar retorted that the education system in Karnataka is based on a continuous and comprehensive evaluation based promotion system from 1st to 9th standard.
He also added that the learning curriculum of the education system in the state is more of a tool implemented for analysing the learning progress made by each student in the course of their study from the primary till 9th standard.
The scheme launched a system that denies physical presence of students in the exams. However the schools are asked to complete their result declaration process by April 30th 2021.
