Eligibility Criteria

The students have to fit into the following eligibility requirements to get admission at Jahurul Islam Medical College:

Foreign Students

The students seeking MBBS admission should have more than 70% marks /GPA of 8 in SSC and HSC or equivalent Examinations (O and A level) combined.
Students with a break of study of more than one year are not eligible to apply for the MBBS course.

Foreign Students

The candidates must have a minimum GPA of 9 combinedly in SSC and HSC (separately minimum 3.5 in each) examination or equivalent and have GPA=3.50 in Biology.
The students with a study break of more than one year are not eligible to apply.

Admission Process

Following are the admission steps if you want to get enrolled in Jahurul Islam Medical College:

Foreign Students

Step 1: Eligible students should fill the application form and apply through the Embassy of Bangladesh in their countries within the announced date to get an eligibility certificate from the Director, Medical Education, Directorate of Health Services (DGHS).

Step 2: The candidates must attach the following documents along with the application form - Certificates and mark sheets of SSC & HSC , 3 recent passport size color photos

Step 3: The provisional selections of the students are done by the admission committee based on merit and provided with an offer letter by post or email. The selected students must immediately respond as per notification of the institute authority and pay 6,000 USD (non-refundable) for confirming their seats.

Step 4: The students must now pay the tuition fee of the medicine program and keep the bank receipt to apply for the visa process. After paying the fee, the students must quickly go through the visa procedure to get a valid passport.

Local Students

Step 1: Interested candidates must submit a duly filled-in application form within the notified date with essential documents and collect admit card for the admission test.

Step 2: The students must appear for the admission test arranged by DGHS and selections are done based on merit.

Step 3: The last date of admission is given for the selected students after which waiting listed students are called if seats will be vacant.

Step 4: The candidates must submit a medical certificate before admission, the students with gross physical, mental, or refractory disorders are not admitted as per the decision of the medical board.
