Admission to German Engineering Universities, schools is quite different from other countries. One should have the B2 level certificate in the German language test to get admission to the German medium of teaching.
Students need to complete the one-year preparatory course in case they are just applying after 10+2 from India After completing the preparatory course, follow these steps to get admission to Engineering universities:
Step 1: Apply online for your desired course in your selected university and scan all the required documents listed on the online portal.
Step 2: Wait for the university to go through your application and documents. Once selected, the university shall send you the admission/invitation letter.
Step 3: Apply for a student visa and open a blocked account (mentioned below) for living expenses in Germany.
Step 4: In case you are not eligible for financial help, you need to add your monthly expenses for the first-year to this blocked account. It sums around 10500 Euro.
Step 5: For some universities, students need to attempt the entrance exam. In case of failure in the entrance exam, students need to go through the 3-4 months foundation course.
Step 6: After successfully completing the entrance exams, foundation course, and documentation, students can start their Engineering studies.

A Blocked Account is compulsory for every student who applies for studying in Germany. It is sort of a bank account. If the prevailing financial condition of the student is not good enough to pay the fees and survive the cost of living in Germany, then the universities provide the funds to this blocked account so that the students can complete their education without much of the financial crisis.
In case the financial condition of the student is good enough to carry the load of the living cost and fees, then students need to add the first year’s living cost to this account while applying for the Student visa.
This is an initiative to help students overcome the expenses of living in Germany. The amount deposited in the blocked account varies from state to state. The total amount of one academic year is deposited in the blocked account for the students.
