Post the delay of CBSE ICSE exams for class 10 and 12 followed by the AIIMS medical entrance test, the curiosity of the students appearing for JEE (Mains) was at peak whether the examinations are going to be cancelled for the year or not?
Relief came finally when the Union Education Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced that the Joint Entrance Exam (Mains) for May 2021 has been postponed scheduled to be held on 24th 25th 26th, 27th and 28th of May 2021 has been postponed for now.
The JEE (Mains) for 2020 had been postponed earlier in the Month of April due to COVID 19 pandemic. According to the sources, all the offline examinations supposed to be held in the month of May have been postponed to activate social distancing w.e.f.
However, two sessions of JEE (Mains) have already been conducted in the month of January and February. According to the reports, 620978 and 556248 candidates have appeared in the test.
Mr. Nishanks tweet reads - keeping the current volatile situation on mind the decisions has been taken to assure the student’s safety as the new wave of COVID 19 spikes all over the country affecting an approx number of 2,02,82,833 people with 3,57,229 (approx) number of people inheriting fresh infections.
His tweet further assures that the fresh dates for conducting the JEE (mains) exam will be delivered shortly within a few days. He also urged the students to stay tuned with the official website of NTA for fresh updates about JEE (mains).
